Wind Power Integration

Welcome to the home page of the wind power integration strand of the WINDFORNEM project.

The researchers for this strand are Hugh Outhred, Iain MacGill, Filita Barker and Stuart Thorncraft.

The goals of this strand are to:

  • Research and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the Australian approach to electricity industry restructuring in the context of wind energy integration
  • Work with international partners to review and compare international approaches to electricity industry restructuring with respect to wind energy integration
  • Propose relevant amendments to the National Electricity Rules for the exploitation of wind energy

14th April 2009
Stuart Thorncraft submitted his PhD thesis entitled: " Electricity Industry Decision-Making Frameworks with Particular Application to Operational Issues".

Filita presented at the American Wind Energy Conference, WINDPOWER 2006, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
