Shayan Naderi

School of Built Environment

Shayan is a PhD candidate through CEEM and the School of Built Environment, UNSW. He has a B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) and M.Sc. (Energy Systems Engineering) from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran. He focuses on data analysis, tool development and optimization to evaluate solar pre-cooling and heating potential in the Australian housing stock. He assesses the cost saving potential for households, minimum demand mitigation in the National Electricity Market (NEM), and emission reduction. He has also collaborated on projects for decarbonizing the Pacific Islands Countries and Territories, by developing tools and methods for data analysis and visualization.

As a part of his PhD, he has contributed to the development of the following open-source tools:

Shayan won the John Ballinger Award at APSRC in 2022
