Institutional impediments to Distributed Energy Storage in the NEM
Keith Sue (ANU)
1-2pm, Friday, 19th April
Theatre LG03, Lower Ground Floor, Tyree Energy Technologies Building (H6), Kensington Campus, University of NSW
This seminar will outline a range of applications for distributed energy storage and present preliminary value propositions across four categories: end-user reliability, wholesale market, network support, and ancillary service applications. A method to assess the extent to which the NEM’s existing institutional framework supports the deployment of these storage applications will then be outlined, and preliminary findings presented. Finally, the importance of aggregation across spatial and temporal scales, and benefit streams will be discussed.
