Peerapat is a postdoctoral research fellow at CEEM. He is a recipient of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. His current research focuses on generation investment and policy support frameworks for facilitating high penetration of renewable energy in the electricity industry. The research builds upon a quantitative modeling framework developed during his PhD to explore generation investment and planning in the context of significant future climate change and energy policy, electricity demand, fossil fuel price and generation technology cost uncertainties. Peerapat completed a PhD at UNSW in 2012. His PhD research presented a novel generation investment and planning decision-support tool for assessing future electricity generation portfolios under uncertainty and multiple policy objectives. Peerapat also holds a M.Eng in Energy Economics and Planning from Asian Institute of Technology and B.Eng (Electrical) from the University of Melbourne. He has several years of industry and research experience in the electricity sector. Peerapat’s research interests include electricity generation investment under uncertainty, risk analysis, renewable energy integration, energy economics and sustainability in the energy industry.
