Arastoo is an energy systems researcher at CEEM, UNSW. He holds a PhD from the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at UNSW. His current work focuses on energy system and market analysis, data-driven modelling, and delivering policy-relevant insights to support the energy transition. His interests include distributed energy resources, electrification, flexible demand, energy storage, public EV charging, rooftop solar potential, and consumer energy outcomes.
He brings a strong technical background in solar cell and module fabrication, product development, and characterisation, spanning from cell-level devices to module performance and reliability. He previously worked as a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant, contributing to projects in PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid integration.
