Bjorn Sturmberg is a researcher and strategist who has worked on the energy system from the nanoscale physics of solar cells to power system security of the National Electricity Market. His research on solar for rentals and apartments, community batteries, microgrids, electric vehicle charging, vehicle-to-grid and hydrogen have shaped research, industry and policy development in Australia and internationally.
Bjorn holds a PhD in physics and Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) from the University of Sydney. He was the 2024 ACT Emerging Scientist of the Year and is the author of Amy’s Balancing Act, an illustrated fable of the energy transition.
