Baran Yildiz
Baran holds a PhD from the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE), UNSW. After his PhD, Baran worked in a Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Project focusing on the development of integrated smart home energy management systems in collaboration with Solar Analytics and various network and energy companies. He currently leads a CRC RACE for 2030 project, Curtailment and Network Voltage Analysis Study (CANVAS), investigating distributed energy resources curtailment in Australia. Baran has collaborated with leading industry partners of Australia's progressive energy market and his research has been translated into real-world products benefiting energy users and networks. Baran's research outputs are featured in reports by Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), Energy Security Board (ESB), CRC and other prime media outlets. Baran is the course convener and lecturer of SOLA 4012 Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Design in SPREE and his main research interests include: integration of distributed energy resources, demand response and demand side management, residential and commercial electricity load analysis and forecasting, smart home energy systems, grid-connected PV systems and micro-grids.
